The Rearview and the Windshield
It’s important to remember.
Imagine forgetting your wedding anniversary or your best friend’s birthday! If you’ve ever forgotten an important date - or had an important date of yours forgotten - you know firsthand how important remembering is.
Remembering is a deeply spiritual practice, too. We’re instructed to
remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy,
remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the LORD your God redeemed you.
In light of this remembering, I encourage you to attend our Annual Congregational Meeting on Sunday, January 29th, with lunch at Noon, followed by the meeting at 1pm. Gathering together will give us an opportunity, as a community, to remember together.
What’s more, it will give us a chance to look forward together, as well. I believe God has incredible things up His sleeve for Good Shepherd this year!
In Staff and Session meetings we call this remembering and looking forward the “rear view mirror” and the “windshield.” Please join us as we remember and look forward together.
