Congregational Meeting 

Our Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 23rd. We are having one worship gathering at 10am, with the meeting immediately following in the Sanctuary. Join us for lunch after the meeting! 

Campus Closed

The church campus will be closed on Monday, February 17th in observance of Presidents' Day. 

New Bible Study - Sunday Night

An 8-week study of Ezra/Nehemiah begins on Sunday, February 16th from 6-8pm in the Fireside Room. Seminar style class examining Israel's return to Jerusalem under the Persian king, Cyrus the Great. Archeology documents this event; scripture predicts it as well. Leaders: Kirk and Sue Brown. Email: stmci@ix.netcom.com for more details. 

Parents Night Out - February 28th

Once a month, parents are invited to drop off their kiddos at the church at 5pm and return by 8pm. Meanwhile, kids will be given dinner and taken care of while parents enjoy a night off. Sign up at gdshp.ch/pno.

Faith at Four (45)

Join us on Wednesday, February 19th at 4:45pm in the Choir Room for Harmony and Hymns. Mark and Peggy Malbon will lead us to explore the history, authors, and stories behind our faith's favorite hymns. Bring a friend and plan to stay for dinner on the Plaza.

Prime Time Luncheon

Join us for lunch at 12 noon on Thursday, February 27th in Zirbel Hall. Michelle Lorenzen Raitt, guest lecturer, will speak on the development of the French Gothic style of architecture and Notre Dame in Paris. She is a long-time resident of Irvine, majored in French and Art History at Pomona College, attended the Sorbonne, and the Ecole du Louvre in Paris. Cost: $5.00. Sign up at the Senior Ministry table on the Plaza. 

Gospel Sing-Along

Join us on Friday, February 21st from 6:30-8pm in the Fireside Room to sing or just to listen to Country Gospel. Acoustic instruments welcomed. Music provided.

Prime Time Day Trip

Plan to join us on Sunday, April 13th as we attend the Living Art Experience at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, inspired by the Life of Christ, a unique presentation through "living" productions of famous works of art. This theatrical masterpiece includes life-sized paintings and sculptures, live models within the art. The program will be narrated with an original script and presented with an inspirational musical score by an orchestra and vocal ensemble. We will leave the church at 12:30pm, program starts at 2pm and return around 5:30pm via coach. Cost: $75. Sign up at the Senior Ministry table on the Plaza. 

Quilters

Quilters meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 10am in the Round Room #4. Their next meeting is on February 24th.

Meet Our Missionaries

John and Amy Battenfield serve Bible schools and church ministries around the world through creative media as they partner with The Master's Academy International (TMAI) and Entrusted Word Ministries (EWM). John is an artist and author, and Amy works alongside him as welll as home schooling their young daughter Mollie. John will be visiting Good Shepherd on Sunday, March 2nd. You will have an opportunity to meet him at both services-and in between-as well as join him in the Fireside Room after 10:45am worship gathering for a light lunch and question/answer time.

Prayers of praise and thanksgiving for missionaries Michael and Carlyn (Jaeger) Pak who have completed their Spanish language immersion course in Mexico. They are ready to begin serving in their new mission parish. Michael as Instructor of Liturgics and Carlyn as Children's Ministry Director. They have attained their resident Visa and now have settled in Santiago de Queretaro.  

Scripture Readers Needed

If you would like to volunteer to read scripture at the 9am service on a Sunday, please contact Dick Crowe at rcrowe1@mac.com.  He will schedule you for a future Sunday, probably within 2-3 weeks in advance. 

Gleanings Mission for 2025 - March 16th-21st

Gleanings for the Hungry 2025 is scheduled for March 16th through March 21st. (Arrival on the afternoon of the 16th and departure on the 21st). All those interested in participating in this mission should attend a short meeting on Sunday, February 16th at 10:15am in the Patio Room. We will answer any questions you have, provide current information, and schedule transportation needs. If you have already signed up and are not able to attend this meeting, please obtain a new "Mandatory Release and Waiver of Liability" form when you arrive on Sunday March 16th. See Doug Johnson or Roger Wiley to obtain a form.   

GriefShare

Those who are mourning the death of a loved one are invited to join the next session of GriefShare, a faith-based support group for comfort and healing, beginning on Tuesday, March 4th from 10-12pm, and continuing for 13-weeks in the Patio Room.

Fires in Southern California

The hygiene collection items for fire victims are continuing far into the future and we hope to continue to be of help. You can still bring hygiene items and write checks of support made out to Food Finders. You can even make pledges of support to give monthly. All help is very appreciated by the people who have lost everything. Thank you for caring.

Having a difficult, emotional and/or spiritual time lately?
