Children's Choir Concert
Good Shepherd's Children's Choir is excited to present "Good Neighbor Sam," a children's musical, on Sunday, May 20th at 2pm. This retelling of the story of the Good Samaritan is a great way to spend an hour on a Sunday afternoon. The music is catchy, the characters are our own talented young people, and the admission is free! Come and show your support for the singers!
At-ten-tion!
The Army medic unit Local Missions is supporting is in need of 10-20 volunteers to help serve food to returning military families. If you can serve 2-3 hours on Sunday, May 27th or make a potluck dish we need you! Contact Rob Saunders, Elder of Local Missions, at 562/421.2799 with questions.
Mother's Day Flowers
Bring a flower from your garden in honor/memory of your mother on Sunday for Mother's Day. Flowers will be placed on the Communion table at the beginning of the 8:45 and 10:30am gatherings.

The Way Out
Summer is a comin' and with it The Way Out's summer camp program for the kids and families of Hawaiian Gardens, Super Summer Camp (kids 9-11), Teen Camp (ages 12-18), Family Camp and Urban Camp. See Bill Irish or Robin Turner at the table on the patio to help make their dreams of a summer fun a reality!
Serve Saturday Evening Attendees
A Communion Coordinator is needed to set up the communion elements before our new Saturday evening gathering (and clean up after?!). Training is provided. Two people could share the responsibilities alternating weeks. Contact Curtis or Paul for more information.

Vacation Bible School 2012
We are collecting these items for VBS crafts: 1/2 gallon clean milk cartons, small twigs, new popsicle/craft sticks, medium smooth pebbles, tacky glue, cloth ribbon (any color), cardboard egg cartons, flat buttons and small shells. If you would like to donate these items, please drop them off in the church office with Sue Gilmore's name on them! Thank you!
