Pastor's Update

As we move into 2012 there are two significant things I would like to comment on.

First is the celebration of 50 years of Good Shepherd's ministry. This is a significant milestone and represents 50 years of extending the good news of God's love in Jesus Christ to the community, providing for worship, Christian nurture for all ages, addressing the needs of people, and demonstrating the presence of God's sovereign reign over all things. February 26th is the date for our 50 year anniversary dinner at the Eagle's Nest. Please stop the table between services and pickup your invitation. The last day to pay for the dinner is Sunday, February 12th. I hope you will plan to be part of this significant celebration event and come prepared this Sunday to purchase your ticket(s). The cost is just $25 per person.

Second, we are looking forward to some significant new things in the ministry of Good Shepherd. We will be moving the 10:30 Bridge service to Saturday evening at 5pm. The start date is still undetermined but it will most likely be late March or the week following Easter. Also, because of the input you provided, the Session is thinking that it is best to not change the Sunday morning schedule. For now the services will remain at 8:45 and 10:30am Sunday mornings.

I thank God for you and your partnership in the life and ministry of Good Shepherd,
Pastor Jim
