Study Guide | Luke 7.36-50
Grace and Peace be with you.
I write from the Serra Retreat Center in Malibu, where I - alongside Pastors Jim and Paul - am attending a retreat of the Los Ranchos Presbytery through tomorrow morning. I worked on this week's study guide, sitting on a bench, with this view before me:
It's a tough job, but someone's gotta sit on that bench! As you might imagine, with a view like this, completing the study guide took a little longer than usual. But, at last, here it is!
This weekend we continue our Lenten series Not A Fan: Becoming A Completely Committed Follower of Jesus, in Luke 7.36-50, at a dinner party thrown by Simon, a good, successful, church-going kind of guy. And when you least expect it, an uninvited guest barges in!
If you're reading along in the book through this series, check out chapter 3 (pages 41-53) sometime this week.
I pray that time spent studying God's Word will prompt you to respond the same way that uninvited guest did: with reckless abandon and complete devotion to Jesus and the Kingdom He inaugurates in our midst. In short, I pray we would continue to be and become not fans, but followers!
See you soon,
