Study Guide | Genesis 2.8-20
As we continue in our study of work entitled Every Good Endeavor we take a look at God’s invitation given to Adam, and to all human beings, to take on a role as co-creators or conservators - literally “serving with (God)” - of creation. The invitation is to become cultivators in the gardens of our world - our places of employment, in our homes, in our neighborhoods, and in the community.
Genesis 2.8-20 shows us the unique perspective revealed by God, that human beings hold a significant place and are called to an important role of bringing something new into the world through our endeavors. This gives dignity to humans and our work, and serves God’s purposes in and for this world.
I pray you will be encouraged as you work through the study guide for this passage and re-engage with the value of your work and your every endeavor.
