An Update from Jessica Knutzen

2

Pastors Jim, Paul and I recently received an e-mail update from Jessica Knutzen, who is a member of Good Shepherd and is "under our care" for ordination. You may recall an update a while back after Jessica graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary. Since moving to O'ahu, Hawaii, Jessica has been serving in a year-long residency as a hospital chaplain and has recently become engaged! She writes,

Hello GSPC Pastors,

I am writing to share good news, that is in process. I have accepted a position as one of two Chaplains for Hospice Hawaii. This means I will definitely be staying here in O'ahu, and I am working with the Pacific Presbytery as my technical "calling" presbytery for ordination.

The oraganization that I will be working primarily with is the same group I am with currently, Pacific Health Ministries. They are a non-profit Medical Chaplain organization. I am looking forward to going before Pacific Presbytery or Los Ranchos Presbytery to complete the ordination process. I am wondering if it might be alright as we move in this direction to start a conversation about an ordination service at GSPC sometime this fall.

I would really like to have a service at GSPC because you, and so many of the congregation have been so supportive over the past 10+ years in my preparation and development. Thank you (and the collective GSPC you) for being so wonderful through this process and I look forward to being in conversation about this with you.

Peace and Grace,
Jessica

We will be sure to keep you - as Jessica says, "the collective you" - informed about her going before the Presbytery and possible ordination gathering here.

What an honor for our church family! Hawaii is truly blessed to have you Jessica. The Lemmel family is so very proud of you and can not wait to attend your ordination day. What a great day it will be. So hononored to be a part of it!

Awesome! What a privilege it has been to watch God's story unfold in Jessica's life and what an amazing blessing to be able to support her through it. So proud of our church family that has loved Jess through this process and I for one can't wait for her ordination day!!!
